Advancing Patient Care Together During Neurosurgery Awareness Month

Dr. Ray Turner

August is Neurosurgery Awareness Month and we proudly recognize the neurosurgeons whose expertise, dedication and compassion make a profound difference in the lives of patients facing complex neurological conditions.

Neurosurgery is one of medicine's smallest and most highly specialized surgical fields. In the United States, just over 4,000 practicing neurosurgeons dedicate years to advanced education and training, including medical school, a seven-year neurosurgical residency, and often fellowship training, to care for patients with disorders of the brain, spine and nervous system.

At Integra LifeSciences, we are honored to partner with these exceptional clinicians. By seeking their insights, we strive to help advance patient care and support better outcomes for the patients they serve.

In recognition of Neurosurgery Awareness Month, our Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Ray Turner, offers a unique perspective as both a practicing vascular neurosurgeon and a medical technology leader.

In this video, he reflects on what inspired him to pursue vascular neurosurgery, the privilege of caring for patients during some of life's most critical moments.

Watch Dr. Turner's story below and join us in celebrating the skill, commitment and partnership that help advance neurosurgical care every day.
