Italy-Based Sales Manager Emilia Iacuzio Thrives in Career Connectedness

Emilia Iacuzio

Emilia Iacuzio, national sales manager, Codman Specialty Surgical (CSS), is committed to her job and to her belief in Integra products. Her goal is to share information about CSS technologies with neurosurgeons in Europe. It’s serious business, but Emilia loves it.

Joining Integra five years ago gave Emilia a valuable fresh perspective and new opportunities. “It was a chance to broaden my vision and to see a different way of doing business,” explains Emilia. “It was a big moment in my career.” She knew it was the right decision when one of the company’s leaders traveled to Italy to speak with the team, something that was rare in an organization as large as the one she’d come from. For her, that visit made the company feel closer.

From Sales Rep to Regional Manager and Beyond

Emilia started in her career as a sales representative, fresh from getting her Master of Business Administration. Soon she was a neurovascular product manager and, over the years, steadily grew her role. By the time she assumed her new role at Integra, she was managing a large region and was ready to develop herself even more.

Today, she’s a national sales manager in Italy, managing a team of 22 diverse people. And she’s proud to be a woman in sales leadership. It’s the culture, however, that most distinguishes her time at Integra from earlier in her career.

“Integra’s culture is to take care of its people first and foremost,” Emilia notes. “Even far from the U.S. headquarters, I feel close to all people of Integra.” She recalls how during the pandemic, the company changed quotas to reflect the new realities its sales representatives faced.

Emilia has found success by embracing change and remembering that everyone is working toward the same goal – to help patients. It’s a great motivation.

A Love of Adventure

It helps that Emilia describes herself as spontaneous, an avid traveler who used to book a flight but nothing else – she let her travels dictate where she went next. Now that she is a mom to two sons, she often finds her adventure elsewhere, whether by staying active with yoga and Pilates, or by finding inspiration for the future in biographies and travel books.

It’s her career journey that’s been the biggest adventure. “I am lucky to have spent more than 15 years focused on sales and marketing - a field I love - and to discover new opportunities in my career at Integra. I’m glad to be here.”
