Sales Operations Manager Alicia Andrews Offers Recipe for Job Fulfillment
Not everyone steps into their dream career at the start. It can take time to find the place that feels like a fit. That was true for Alicia Andrews, sales operations manager, Tissue Technologies – at least until she landed at Integra. For nearly eight years, she has been gaining experience as part of the sales team for Tissue Technologies, and in each of her roles, Alicia has been motivated by the Integra culture and its commitment to patients.
Since joining in 2015, Alicia’s Integra career has been dominated by growth – four promotions in just six years. Whether serving in sales operations or as a senior inventory specialist or working in reconstructive distribution, she has enjoyed the company’s start-up feel and its impact on patients.
“One of my favorite aspects of working at Integra is listening to the patient stories at the town halls,” says Alicia. “I love seeing the hope our products can give to someone and how they make a difference in patients’ lives.”
In her current role, Alicia helps implement Integra’s inventory management system and then trains the sales team on the tool. But she’s had the chance to be a part of the patient impact in an even more direct way, helping ensure dermal repair products reached a patient with urgent needs. She still remembers the emergency surgery that was able to be done thanks to her help.
Alicia has a nursing background, which is useful in her Integra work. But she admits figuring out nursing wasn’t for her, and before finding Integra, she spent time working as a bartender in Austin. It was while she was figuring out what was next for her, and how she could use her degree in a different part of the medical field, when a friend pointed her to Integra.
As Alicia explains it, “Integra takes care of employees.” She notes how friendly everyone is, and how inspired she is by the fun culture. “It’s more than working at a company.”
In her time with the company – and during her search for the right career – Alicia has dedicated herself to learning. “You will be the person who gets you to the next level,” she notes. “The more you can learn, the better off you are. And when change comes, be ready for it. Because when it does, if you don’t bend, you’ll break.”
It’s that flexible attitude that has kept Alicia growing with the company, creating a positive career for her, and giving Integra the best of her talents and experience. It’s been a recipe for success all around.
