Where Manufacturing Meets Purpose

What is your name and role at Integra LifeSciences?

My name is Lucie Filloleau, and I am a supervisor of manufacturing operations at Integra LifeSciences. I lead the Hakim and OSV II production lines, which manufacture valves used in the management of hydrocephalus.

I work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to support the consistent production of safe, reliable products that patients and healthcare providers can depend on. What I enjoy most is balancing operational performance, quality, and people development while supporting a team that plays an important role in patient care.

Who are you beyond your job title?

Outside of work, I enjoy staying active through CrossFit and dance, two activities that challenge me and help me maintain balance. I also love spending time outdoors, exploring new places, and discovering beautiful landscapes whenever I travel.

Most importantly, I value time with family and friends, whether that means sharing a meal, enjoying nature, or creating new memories together.

What inspired you to pursue a career in medical technology?

Healthcare has always been part of my life. My mother is a nurse, so I grew up hearing stories about the impact healthcare professionals can have on patients and families.

While I knew direct patient care was not the right path for me, I was drawn to science, problem-solving, and continuous improvement. The medical technology industry offered the opportunity to contribute to patient care in a different way.

What do you enjoy most about working at the Le Locle facility?

Without hesitation, the people.

The Le Locle facility is filled with talented and dedicated colleagues who genuinely care about what they do. There is a strong culture of collaboration, trust, and mutual support, and people consistently come together to solve challenges and help one another succeed.

I have also been fortunate to grow my career across several functions, including Quality, Validation, and Operations. Those experiences have helped me develop professionally while learning from exceptional colleagues and leaders.

How does your work contribute to patients living with hydrocephalus?

Working on the Hakim and OSV II valve lines gives special meaning to everything we do.

Behind every valve is a patient, a family, and a team of healthcare professionals who are counting on us. Although we may never meet the people who rely on our products, we understand the important role they play in helping manage hydrocephalus and supporting quality of life.

That responsibility reminds us that every detail matters and motivates us to deliver our very best every day.

What does quality mean to you?

We strive for Quality in everything we do because it is the foundation of building trust with our customers and the patients we serve.

My career at Integra began in Quality, and those experiences shaped how I approach my work today. Quality is more than a process or a requirement. It is a commitment to patients.

Working in both Quality and Operations has reinforced that quality belongs to everyone. It is reflected in the decisions we make, the standards we uphold, and the way we work together to strive for excellence in everything we do.

What motivates you each day?

The greatest source of motivation is knowing that our work matters.

I am inspired by the impact our products can have on patients' lives and by the opportunity to help people grow. Seeing team members develop new skills, overcome challenges, and achieve their goals is one of the most rewarding parts of being a leader.

What makes you most proud of your team? 

The dedication and expertise of our manufacturing teams. Every day, operators, technicians, engineers, planners and support teams work behind the scenes to produce devices that patients around the world rely on. Their attention to detail, commitment to quality, and willingness to support one another are remarkable.

While their work may not always be visible, its impact is.
